Rapid River Magazine: Tell us a little about Mine & Yours Consignments.

Lori Dawson: If you’re looking for a warm friendly atmosphere to shop for gently used second hand treasures, this is your kind of place. We offer a large assortment of current fashions for the entire family. Wonderful décor for the home including lamps, rugs, dishes and furniture. Something for every room.

RRM: What are your most popular items this spring?

LD: With spring comes the demand of flip flops, sandals, shorts, capri’s and swimwear. We accept outdoor furniture; that includes patio sets, lawn chairs and also children’s large outdoor toys.

RRM: How did Mine & Yours initially come about?

LD: It started in 1999 when I decided that I wanted to work for myself. I woke up in the middle of the night with the vision of opening a consignment shop. I’m very supportive of recycling and reusing clothing, household items, etc… More and more people are involved in this lifestyle. I think it plays an important part in the environment.

RRM: What has been your secret for running a successful business now for 14 years?

LD: Having a friendly, committed staff that works together as a team is one of the most important factors in a successful business. We make an effort to talk to each person that comes through the door. Also, the quality of our consignments is a must. Having loyal customers and consignors has helped our business grow in strides.
