The 39th LEAF Festival

De La Soul
De La Soul

LEAF has a stellar lineup of performing artists for the fall festival, taking place October 16-19, 2014 in Black Mountain.

“Celebrate Unity, Inspire Every Voice” at the 39th LEAF Festival and experience multiple cultures with the harmonious and stirring tones of Nahko & Medicine for the People; influential hip hop legends De La Soul; and the uniquely beautiful banjo duo known as Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn.

Other LEAF musical attractions include bluegrass duo Rising Appalachia, and American Steampunk performance troupe MarchFourth Marching Band. The 39th LEAF features more diverse performers such as the Bhangra/Celtic ensemble from Canada, Delhi 2 Dublin, and soulfully seductive sounds from The Nth Power. The lineup rounds out with genre-bending performances from the East LA and Afro-Caribbean infused beats of Las Cafeteras, transcendental folk-rockers Mandolin Orange, and many more.

LEAF Festival musicians provide the soundtrack to a memorable experience filled with cultural treasures and fun around every corner. The festival combines a great diversity of names and faces with a myriad of community dances including Salsa, Swing, Cajun, the Waltz and traditional, contemporary and techno forms of Contra. Enjoy poetry and puppetry slams; healing arts workshops; folk art and handcraft exhibitions, installations and interactive demonstrations; camping, watersports and outdoor adventure; and kid’s activities. This fall, LEAF will not only be showcasing world class talent, but will be sharing a powerful positive message through every artist, musician, and performer.
