TO SUPPORT LOCAL TEEN TALENT KAI LENDZION IN REACHING HIS DREAMS OF BETTERING THE WORLD THROUGH FILM AND PHOJOURNALISM
Several top area musicians and a silent auction to help fund teen’s film school tuition
Asheville NC, August 8, 2016:
This special benefit will feature musicians Jeff Thompson, Ben Phan, Jane Kramer, Jonathan Santos, Noah Mowatt-Larson, several surprise guests, the DJ stylings of Nex Millen and Dave Hamilton, and a silent auction of over 20 items from local artisans and businesses including Jonas Gerard. The event is 7-10pm, open to all ages, and a $5 minimum donation cover at the door.
At only 18, Kai Lendzion has been highly respected for his digital arts skills at Asheville High, being commissioned to create professional videos for the school, called on for film and photography projects by local non-profits and organizations such as OpenDoors and Diana Wortham Theater, and earning community awards and accolades. When he gained acceptance into some of the most intensive and top notch film programs in the country, he knew the tuition wasn’t something his single school counselor mother could afford and committed to doing whatever it takes to reach his dreams. Kai will be attending Ringling College of Art and Design in the fall and aspires to combine his love of filmmaking and photography with his passions for history and social justice to make a genuine positive difference in the problems the world is experiencing.
