RULES:

  • Contest is open to all artists. Styles include all 2D art, ie. painting, photography, drawing, digital media, etc. No sculptures unless it can hang on the walls without being too bulky. Contact Rapid River Magazine (828) 646-0071 for more details.
  • Art must be submitted in the following format types: (tif, jpeg, pdf) and be less than 2MB. Pay with credit card, or put image on a CD or DVD and mail with this entry form and $20 check to 85 N. Main St. Canton, NC 28716.
  • Original artwork cannot be larger than 48″h x 60″w.
  • All artwork being submitted must be original and belong to the artist submitting it.
  • All artwork being submitted must have been done in the last 4 years and has not been sold.
  • Please send only digital copies of your work, no originals.
  • The top 20 pieces will be selected by our esteemed panel of independent judges. These pieces will be displayed at several galleries and restaurants in WNC. All of our opening night receptions will be heavily promoted, catered, and include a silent auction benefiting Friends of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Each event will also include a “people’s choice award.” Attendees will vote on-site for their favorite piece. The winning entry will win significant prizes.
  • Final 20 winners will be notified via e-mail.
  • Final 20 winners must have actual artwork for the group shows and will be judged by their actual artwork (must be framed or ready to display)
  • Top 4 winners will receive prizes.
  • Winners 5-20 will receive Honorable Mentions
  • Contest winner decisions are final / no cash awards
